addl tools for building decks
Quick follow-up to the last post. Alongside the Labyrinth Forge, there are now two more tools to help with building decks.
Set Discovery
Punch in a set code (or a few) and it shows you what's worth considering, ranked and grouped. Pick the Hero/Vanguard lens and you get the best removal, board wipes, card draw, and so on from that set, plus a "threads to pull on" list of high-ceiling cards and legendaries to build around. Flip to the Labyrinth lens and it surfaces the scariest cards for a dungeon instead. It's meant as a jumping-off point when you're staring at a box of bulk, not an "optimal list."
Hero deck mode in the Forge
The Forge now has a lens toggle. Paste a deck and, in Hero deck mode, it breaks down your role coverage, mana curve, and colors, and tells you where you're thin against the dungeon (for example, "you have no board wipes, and the Labyrinth floods you"). If you paste a full Commander deck, it'll also suggest a 60-card cut and nominate an Avatar, so you can turn a deck you already own into a Vanguard in a few clicks.
See why
Click any card in any of the tools and you get a popup with its oracle text and a breakdown of exactly how it was scored. The scores are just suggestions with their reasoning shown, so hopefully they help you build an intuition rather than telling you what to do.
As always, these are rough by design and I'd love feedback. Try them with a deck you own and let me know how it goes, either in the Discord or at arcane-labyrinth@pm.me.
